In cities all over the world, housing is becoming unaffordable while homelessness is increasing.
Although housing is recognized as an international human right, it often seems to be perceived as a commodity. How can we move away from housing as an investment to a home - a place to live in dignity? What does it mean for policy and practice when we start to imply the right to housing? With among others economist Laurie MacFarlane, gentrification expert Cody Hochstenbach and Dutch housing market expert Peter Boelhouwer.
During this conference, we will elaborate on why we need to rethink the economics of land and housing. We will explore how housing as a human right can be applied in the international, national and local context. More information on this conference and additional (inter)national speakers will follow shortly.
